Lessons on Boys

Today I thought about the difference between my sister, who has three girls, and me.  Our lives are so different because our children are so different.  I thought that I would share what living with boys is like with two different stories.  (Pictures are from our ice cream trip last week.)

Today on the way home from preschool I was asking Lucas all sorts of questions.  I got absolutely no answer.  Nothing.  Just a blank tired stare.  But, somehow my little man perked up just enough to show Samuel his booger.  Samuel said "wow!  booger!"  and then he too preceded to retrieve a booger from his nostril.  They seriously talked about each others boogers the entire way home from school.

Tonight at dinner I tried again to ask questions about Lucas' day.  Again, nothing.  But, he did want to bond with his brother over a little head banging.  They both began to bang their heads on each other and on the table.  Big red marks appeared on each of their foreheads. They thought it was hilarious.  They were both spitting out food because they were laughing so hard.

In conclusion:
First:  if I want a nice conversation about the day I better call one of my female friends/family.
Second:  if I want to bond with my boys I better be gross or destructive.

Lesson Learned.
I love those nasty destructive boys!
