Five Years!

Brian and I celebrated our fifth year anniversary last week!  What an incredible five years it has been!  So much has happened and so much has changed.  I couldn't have a more perfect person to experience those changes with.  He is the most perfect man for me and I am so thankful that God brought him to me.

Our honeymoon!

A 3 year old's photoshoot

I hesitate to post these pictures of the nonmake-uped messy hair me.  But, Lucas is too cute not to.
I mentioned on my previous post that he has been our resident photog lately.  He has also been posing...like me.  It was cracking me up when I was going through these photos and noticing that he had imitated all of the poses I had done for him .

I love this kid!

27

I turned twenty-seven this month!  When I think about where I dreamed I was going to be in life when I was 27, it was definitely here.  God has blessed me with the most amazing husband who is the best daddy to our kids.  All of my dreams were centered on creating a family and all of the blessings that come along with that.  I am so grateful for my twenty seven years.  This next year is going to bring another blessing that I cannot wait to hold in my arms.  Also in the next year we hope to get some traveling in to see family (now that Brian will have some vacation.)

I had a great birthday that started with a quiet manicure/pedicure.  I had never been to get my nails done alone.  At first, I wasn't sure I would enjoy sitting there by myself.  But, it was truly relaxing and I am so grateful for that.  When I returned home the boys surprised me with this awesome cake.  Brian asked what color they wanted to ice it and Lucas named quite a few colors.  So, they used them all!  It was awesome and the boys were so excited.

Lucas has become our family's new photographer...the following are pics that will be in his portfolio one day ; )  He wanted to take birthday pictures.

Later that evening Brian's parents watched the boys so we could go out to eat.  That was a much needed and appreciated evening together.  Later, we went back and had cake with everyone.

Lucas and Coco have become buddies.  Not sure how she feels about it, but he loves it.

Thanks to everyone in my family for making my birthday awesome!  I seriously cannot wait to see how life will be by my next birthday.  So many exciting things heading my way and I hope to enjoy every day of it!

Independence Day

We had a great July 4th. Brian helped his parents take a few loads to their new house and then we ate and played outside the rest of the day.

Smiling faces of some handsome boys!

We enjoyed pineapple floats in the backyard.

We all took a turns racing the sprinkler.

Then, we ended the night very late at one of the fire stations watching a really neat fireworks show.  The boys loved it!  Samuel kept saying "WOW!"  I'm so glad that we got to spend the holiday together as a family.  We are so blessed.

The post with no focus...welcome to my world.

As I am writing this Samuel is saying "Percy!  Percy! Percy!  Yeah!  Percy!"
I thought that I needed to document a little bit about what these kiddos are up to lately.
First off, Samuel loves cars and trains so much.  He is a little bit of a toy hoarder because he will carry his cars around all wrapped up in his arms instead of playing so that Lucas doesn't get them.  Samuel loves "Thomas the Train (aka Percy.)"  He also loves Cars and Larry Boy.  Samuel is talking so much.  He repeats everything we say with a high pitched question.  Samuel has begun throwing fits.  I never know when they will start or end.  He can go for hours.  I have been putting him in his bed during these fits to let him calm down and about 50% of the time he falls asleep.

I had tried going to story time in the past with Lucas and I quit going because I always felt like he was the only child not paying attention and walking around.  But, the other day we tried again and it was a success!  He sat there and participated like such a big boy.  He clapped, danced, and smiled the entire time.  He is definately growing up.  I think that he is really going to enjoy MDO this fall.  Lucas still loves to cuddle so much.  He loves animals (especially dogs.)  Lucas has been very well behaved lately.  He tries extra hard to be good when Samuel is being bad (smart kid.)    Lucas' favorite phrases are "I gotta idea!" and "in three to five minutes...okay?"  He is really coming out of toddlerhood and into childhood.  The other day he asked if he was being helpful.

Both of the boys have been coming to snuggle with me in bed in the mornings.  It is my favorite time!  I think that baby number three is going to stir things up just a bit.
Brian's parents are moving to Norman.  They are going to be 15 minutes from us rather than 45.  We are so greatful and excited.  The boys have already tested out the neighborhood playground.  We can't wait to get them settled in this week.  The boys are going to love having some family close by!
