Adding Color

After getting eaten up by mosquitoes in our wooded yard it was time to bring out the citronella candles.  I wanted to make sure that we weren't just sitting the candles on the ground outside (for some reason I didn't trust two curious boys.)  So, Brian's mom took me to Garden Ridge to pick out some side tables to go on the front porch.  I found these two rustic looking tables.  They were a great size, but the wrong color.  So, what else would I do other than paint it?  That is my solution for everything.  Now we have some aqua to break up the brown after brown after brown.  I'm pretty happy with the results.

Crazy for Grandma

Grandma came to visit last weekend because Samuel was getting tubes in his ears and his adnoids taken out.  Lucas stayed at home with Grandma while Brian and I took Samuel to the Surgical Center.

The boys were excited about Grandma coming and were acting silly when she got here.

Grandma brought the kids new chairs.  They loved them so much!

I couldn't pass up posting these pictures of my two boys actually smiling together...in the same photo...that is a big deal!

Thanks for coming to help Grandma.  We had a nice visit!  Love you!

Zoo Day

We took a trip to the zoo a few weeks ago with our good friends the Scarbroughs. The OKC zoo is awesome!  Every time we have gone we see something new.  It is pretty exciting.

This time Lucas had a run-in with a female tiger.  She charged at him two or three times.  I would have figured that he would have been terrified, but instead he laughed and kicked the glass.  Scary!

We also got to see the sea lion show.  Lucas loved it so much!  He clapped, danced, and cheered.  What a neat experience that we have so close to home.

Congratulations!!!

April 3, 2012 Brian graduated from Norman Fire Department's academy.  He is excited about being out in the field again.  We are both excited about him being back on shift work.  That has been how our lives have been since we met and it was strange with him working 8-5.  He is spending 6 months at his current assignment and will be moving to a new station after that to finish out his first year of training.  After that...who knows.

He loves his new job and I am so proud of the hard work that he has done.  It feels so great to be settled.

Last night, he got called into work because of the tornado that hit Norman.  Abigail and Sarah wanted to know how Uncle Brian stopped the tornado.  They are convinced that he saved Norman.  Its so funny to hear a child's version of it.

Congratulations Brian.  Lucas, Samuel and I love you so much!

Catching up

After a much needed blogging/computer break I'm working on catching up with pictures.
Last month we had Sarah and Anna's birthday parties in Tulsa.   They were so much fun and it was nice to get to visit everyone.  We are so happy to have such great cousins who care about us so much.  Sarah keeps telling everyone that she wishes that we still lived in our apartment because Norman is so far away.  That breaks my heart.

I didnt get any pictures from Sarah's birthday because I was there without Brian (and with two kiddos, picture taking can me a little difficult.)  But, here are a few fun moments from Anna's party.
