Joseph is 2 Months!

Joseph turned two months this week.  He is getting so big already.  I don't have his weight yet because I am just a little behind on his doctor's appointment.

Joseph is such a sweet baby.  He is so content.  The only times he seems to cry is when he is tired or hungry.  He loves looking a people.  He almost immediately smiles and laughs as soon as someone gets in front of his face.  He still has a full head of hair that curls when it is freshly washed.  He is eating every three hours and sometimes sleeping as much as eight hours at night.

He loves his big brothers who are doing such a great job with him.  They love him so much and give him a lot of attention.

Lucas has a problem

Every night before Lucas goes to bed he tells Brian that he "has a problem."  Then, Lucas tells his daddy a story about how there is a "mad" animal that is somehow harming a "happy" animal.  Then he will tell Brian that he needs to go shoot the mad animal.  Like this:

"There is a mad tiger...chasing a happy kitty.  Daddy, go outside...and shoot the mad tiger...okay?"

These are pics of the boys preparing for a mean bear hunt.  Meanwhile, I was decorating the kitchen.  I leave the hunting to the males in the family.

Mud Pit

Last year I tried to plant a flower bed.  But, I seriously underestimated the amount of shade that it would receive.  So, everything died.  Now, it is officially a mud pit.  Brian turned on the hose and let the boys play with their monster trucks.

They were covered in mud from head to toe by the time that they were finished.  We sent them to the shower.  Even Joseph got a bath.  Samuel and Lucas helped.

Joseph's hair looks like a wig after we wash it.  It gets really fluffy on top...so funny.

Then, right about dinner time we lost them.  They were so sweet laying there.

Hello!

Hello!  I'm Joseph.  I am a happy baby!

All Three

Field Trips

Brian had a lot of time off last week.  It had been so long since he had taken vacation.  It felt very wierd to have him off for so long.  We took advantage of our time together and went on a few field trips.  Brian looked into a children's museum that was about 40 minutes away.  We all had a blast.  It was so much fun.

They loved the airplane

Samuel loved the old Ford

Weather Men on the news.

Changing the tires on this car.

Digging for dinasaur bones.  Brian's shoes were full of sand for the rest of the day.

This was a favorite too.

Shopping at Homeland.  Don't let the fruit and veggies fool you.  They must have been shopping for someone else.

Awesome outdoor maze.  They did it by themselves the second time.

Doctor Daddy and Doctor Lucas

Pirates

Driving the boat.

Samuel painting Lucas' neck with face paint.

This is the outcome.

This is how it ended.  It was such a fun day.

The day before the museum, we ventured out to the zoo.  The weather was so beautiful.

We were definitely greatful for the fun family time.  Now it is back to reality.

Larry Boy

My boys have been into Larry Boy from Veggie Tales.  The Dentons passed down a neat Larry costume to us and the boys have been really enjoying it.  We added the super suction ears.

I think that they look halarious.  I can see these pictures coming back out when their girlfriends come around.

Sam's New Role

Samuel was very timid around Joseph for the first month or so.  He didn't want Joseph even touching him.  It was like Joseph had germs.  But, lately Samuel has really been warming up to him.  He rubs his head and says "I love him."  He also helps me burp Joseph and sings the song as he helps: "Top, top, bottom, bottom, middle, middle, middle."  Sam has been wanting to help pick him up and to soothe him when he is upset.  He is starting to embrace his role as big brother.

A Monster Truck Party

Lucas chose to have a monster truck themed party for his fourth birthday.  These boy themes are starting to get very repetitive for me...I guess I better get used to it : )

This is Lucas when he woke up that morning and saw the table all set up with decorations and cake!

These are the newest cousins in the family.  They are also the closest in age out of all of the cousins.   They totally look related, right?  Haha.

This time around, I was not feeling up to making a cake.  I had planned on picking up a store cake and putting a toy truck on top.  So, Brian took that as a challenge to produce one awesome monster truck cake. I think that he did a great job.  In fact, he might be taking over my job soon.

Seven Grandchildren:  Sarah, Abigail, Anna, Samuel, Lucas, Joseph and Noah (with some adult help too)

Momma, Lucas, and Daddy

After food, cake and presents we all enjoyed the beautiful day that we were blessed with.  We had some people playing ball, some playing on the scooter, others were driving the jeep and some were playing in the bed of a truck.  I think that all of the kids had a great time.
Meghan and Me

Noah and Emmy

Anna and Aunt Melissa

Aunt Lindsey and Lucas

I couldn't pass this picture up.  Both of their faces crack me up.

Sweet Baby
New scooter for his birthday!

I think that Lucas had a great time.  We are so blessed to have such a great family.  We love that we are close to Mamaw and Pawpaw.  We are sad to live away from the rest of the family but are grateful that we get to see each other often.  I know that I cherish the time that we all have together.  Thank you everyone for all that you did for Lucas.  We love you all!

Happy Birthday Lucas!
