Movin' and Chewin'

Last week two little white spots showed themselves at the front of Samuel's mouth. Why babies require drool to allow this to happen is beyond me. But, drool aside, the teeth are here. Can't wait to see that little grin with some teeth right there in front. Soooo cute!

On the topic of changes, Samuel is officially crawling! He is army crawling in honor of his Uncle Brett being at training. Its so cute! He uses one elbow and the opposite leg when moving. The speed varies on his goal. A bowl of Lucas' cheerios = fast, a old toy that he is tired of = slow.

Easter...really late...I know

I know its late, but better late than never...

We started Easter festivities a little early because Brian had to work the Saturday before Easter. Dying eggs was interesting. Lucas is really into doing everything by himself. I'm pretty sure that we ended up with more broken eggs than not. But, that's okay. I had so much fun trying a technique that I saw on Martha Stewart. Mine was obviously not as good as hers but it was still fun to try.

Mamaw and Pawpaw came to spend the night on Saturday so that we could all go to church together on Sunday. We had a great time with them. I made some yummy cinnamon rolls and breakfast casserole for the morning. Then we all went to church and later went to my parent's house for the rest of the day.

Mamaw and Pawpaw got Sam a stuffed frog. He loved the tissue paper is was wrapped in and the first thing that he did when he saw the frog was eat it. He loved it.

Everyone was at my parents (except for Brett who was at Survival training in Washington and Uncle Mike who lives in Austin.) I didn't get pictures of Lindsey or Josh but they were there too ; )

What a great family gathering it was. And, what a great way to celebrate Jesus' rising from the dead. Thank you Lord for letting us live this life so that we can be with you in Heaven!!!

Grandpa

Grandpa passed away last Friday. He was 90 years old. He had blessed this world for 90 years with his faith in God, his humor, his perseverance and his love.

He loved to sing old country western karaoke. Even the new members of the family were expected to join in. That is one of the first memories that I have of him.

He built the house that he lived in with his own two hands. He was a carpenter. Some of the neatest toys that Brian remembers are the ones that Grandpa made.

Grandpa had six kids and lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Because of the love that him and his lovely sweetheart had they blessed the world with a lot of Dalios. This is a picture of Brian with Grandpa when Brian was little.

This is a picture of Grandpa with Lucas. He loved Lucas so much. He always told us that if Lucas ever did anything wrong it would be our fault because he started out "just perfect".

We love you Grandpa and we miss you. But, we know that you will be praying for us in Heaven. What better saint could we ask for?

Thanks!

Thank you was one of the first words that Lucas said. I don't take much credit for it. It was just a set of words that he said from the very beginning. Of course, I love how it makes me look as a parent. Wow! I got his to say thank you all of the time. Haha, if only "thank you" made up for "no," and "mine," and "stop it!"

"Thank you" has always sounded like "taint too," until recently. Lately he has been saying "Thanks." Its killing me. While cute and sweet, its also sad. Kind of like when a child goes from "momma" to "Mom." Sad, sad day.

Thanks for always saying "Thanks" Lucas. I love you my sweet sweet boy!

Yes, he is wearing a pink bib. No, he didn't choose it. Yes, his aunts do make fun of him.

Who is that baby?!

Samuel was getting a little fussy before bedtime until he found a new friend...

He was saying, "Wow! You are one cute baby!"

Happy Birthday PawPaw!

Today is my Daddy's birthday! We celebrated yesterday with a German Chocolate cake and ice cream. Mom made shrimp linguinie. Everything was so yummy. It was nice to have a lot of our family there. Brett, Brian and Melissa were out of town. But, Melissa did send a really funny card with Lindsey. Hope you had a great weekend Dad. We love you!

He is quick

Brian and I were both getting ready for the day and Samuel was taking a nap. When I walked out of the bathroom I realized that the door to our bedroom was open (yes, Samuel is still in our bedroom, unfortunately.) I figured that he had woken up and Lucas and Brian had opened the door to say "Hi." Then, Brian came in from the kitchen and said that he did not know that Samuel was awake. Here is what I found when I walked into our room.

I asked Lucas if Samuel was sleeping and he said "yes." Brian said that he looked away for just a few seconds. The same thing happened today while I was making breakfast. I turned around and found Lucas in Samuel's crib. Needless to say, I installed a child's lock on the outside of my door.

He obviously wants to spend time with his little brother. What's the problem?
